The beach
The city describes Dadonghai as a 2.9 km crescent between Yulin Port and Luhuitou. A 2023–2025 upgrade added a visitor centre, renewed walkways and beach access, plus Chinese, English and Russian signage.
- It’s a public beach in a busy visitor district — not a private hotel shore.
- Use designated swim zones, follow flags and on-site instructions, and judge the day’s sea conditions for yourself.

Daily life
Beach, accommodation, restaurants, shops and central-city access all meet in one area. For daily errands or an easy DiDi pickup, compare the exact street and building entrance as well as the seafront view.
- Walk the route between a proposed home or hotel and the places you’ll use after dark.
- Construction, road noise, stairs, lift access and the real entrance can matter as much as the map pin.
- Multilingual signs help with wayfinding; they don’t mean every shop or service will speak English or Russian.

Getting around
Dadonghai works well as a base for central Sanya and Luhuitou-side trips. Yalong Bay, Haitang Bay, Phoenix Airport and western Sanya still need deliberate planning — travel time depends on pickup point, traffic and destination.
