Pick the area for your kind of night
Dadonghai brings beach bars, pubs and restaurants close together. Sanya Bay has sunset drinks and beachfront entertainment, while Houhai combines the surf village with small cocktail and music bars. Choose Yalong Bay for MGM’s beach music or Scene’s cocktail lounge, and Haitang Bay for rooftops, craft beer and seaside dinner shows.
Further along the coast, Tufu Bay and Clear Water Bay offer hotel bars in Lingshui. They suit an evening based in that area; use the Lingshui hotel name as your destination.
- Keep the Chinese name and address handy. English-only names can be hard for map and taxi searches.

Freegen Beach Bar
Freegen combines a beachfront dinner with live singers and DJ evenings. It draws a strongly international crowd, especially Russian-speaking visitors, and its Russian food, cocktails and outdoor seating make it an easy place to meet other travellers by the sea.

The Mana Pool
Join a game and meet people around a table at this Dadonghai board-game bar. Its Chinese- and English-language socials suit newcomers as well as regular players, with Magic Mondays, Warhammer Wednesdays and Friday Night Social. Pair a fresh beer with live folk-style singing at Mangrove Tree’s Sanya Bay Craft Beer Workshop. It suits a seated evening with drinks, grilled snacks and company.
The bar is on the Coconut Hotel’s ground floor, near the Amazon Jungle Water Park entrance. It’s open 17:00–24:00; sit farther from the stage if you’d like to talk over the music.
