Yalong Bay Tropical Paradise Forest Park

亚龙湾热带天堂森林公园(Yàlóngwān Rèdài Tiāntáng Sēnlín Gōngyuán)

A ticketed rainforest park overlooking Yalong Bay, with a flexible mix of sightseeing transport and walks between Orchid Valley, the cable-bridge area and Summit Park. Choose how much of the day you want to spend on foot.

Want more climbing? The operator flags a roughly 2 km uphill stretch from Orchid Valley to Kongshan Pavilion. That is one segment, not the whole park, and a return on foot is a substantial outing of at least four hours.

Beyond the walk: the park’s High-altitude Zipline (高空滑索, Gāokōng Huásuǒ) is the flying-fox-style ride. There’s also a Rainforest Adventure Course, the Guojianglong suspension bridge and a glass skywalk. These are add-ons; weather or participant rules can close them.

  • Hours: generally 08:00–18:00; ticket checks currently end at 17:30.
  • Trail rule: the hiking trail closes at 16:00 and may stay closed all day in thunderstorms. Arrive in the morning.
  • Adult ticket: ¥140 May–September and ¥158 October–April, including return sightseeing transport. Bridge, glass walkway and adventure products cost extra.
  • Arrival: West Gate is usually simplest for taxis and buses. Current visitor information lists routes 30, 115 and 127.
  • Contact: 0898-38238888; visitor centre 0898-38279914.
Visitor centres list wheelchair, walking-stick and stroller loans. That doesn’t mean the mountain trail or optional attractions are continuously accessible.

Nanshan coastal greenway

三亚崖州湾科技城南山森林步道(Sānyà Yázhōuwān Kējìchéng Nánshān Sēnlín Bùdào)

This 11.64 km point-to-point scenic greenway runs from Daxiao Dongtian to Nanshan Cultural Tourism Zone. The authority’s photograph and map show a broad paved route beside the coast, with sea, rock and wooded scenery.

The official illustrated map places the route along the shoreline between the Daxiao Dongtian car park and Nanshan Cultural Tourism Zone. Tap it to open the full interactive greenway guide and navigation.

  • Official distance: 11.64 km.
  • Route: Daxiao Dongtian Scenic Area → Nanshan Cultural Tourism Zone.
  • Character: a coastal greenway with sea, rock and wooded scenery.
  • Contacts: Daxiao Dongtian 0898-88830188; Nanshan 0898-88837888.
The route connects two separately managed attractions. Plan which entrance you will use and how you will return from the other end.

Red Canyon boardwalk

五指山红峡谷文化旅游区(Wǔzhǐshān Hóng Xiágǔ Wénhuà Lǚyóu Qū)

Follow a managed 3.8 km wooden boardwalk through a rainforest river canyon in Wuzhishan, with handrailed steps and platforms above red-toned cliffs, pools and seasonal cascades. The stepped route suits visitors comfortable with stairs.

  • Displayed hours: scenic area 09:00–17:00; boardwalk listed 09:00–16:00.
  • Cutoff: another operator display appears to give 14:30 for project entry, so the usable start window may be shorter than the displayed opening hours.
  • Price: the last explicit operator standard found was ¥40; treat it as a reference rather than a guaranteed current tariff.
  • Arrival: self-drive or hired transport is the reliable option from Sanya. Search 五指山红峡谷文化旅游区; available map pins disagree about the entrance.
  • Contact: 0898-86666688.
Call before leaving Sanya, especially after heavy rain or in typhoon conditions. The attraction also advertises rafting, a via ferrata, a suspension bridge and a glass dry slide — separate products with their own tickets, conditions and safety rules.

Qixianling Forest Park hike

七仙岭温泉国家森林公园(Qīxiānlǐng Wēnquán Guójiā Sēnlín Gōngyuán)

For a challenging rainforest climb, Qixianling in Baoting follows steep stone steps and suits fit walkers comfortable with a sustained ascent and a long stair descent.

The stone trail passes giant buttress roots, tangled vines, a protected tree-fern grove, streams, pools and small cascades. Paid moving walkways ease part of the ascent; the remaining route still includes steps.

One recent hiker’s GPS trace recorded 5.19 km, 616 m of ascent and about 4 hours 24 minutes. That is one example rather than an official standard; the ordinary route’s exact distance, turnaround points and typical duration remain unspecified.

  • Current listing: 08:30–18:00, with ticket sales and entry ending at 17:00. That cutoff is not a sensible hiking start time.
  • Tickets: recent third-party listings showed basic entry from ¥42, with moving-walkway combinations sold separately. The gate price and inclusions may change.
  • Arrival: self-drive or hired transport remains reliable. Route 332 is published to the mountain-road roundabout, but the ticket-gate transfer and return timetable are not published clearly.
  • Contacts: 0898-31833888 / 0898-31835047.
The exposed summit scramble is not part of this recommendation. The chain-and-iron-ladder section is a separate adventure product; access and safety arrangements for that section have not been verified here.

Yanoda: rainforest paths and waterfalls

呀诺达雨林文化旅游区

Choose Yanoda for a managed rainforest visit in Sandao Town, Baoting, with sightseeing paths and waterfall scenery. It’s also home to the coach-led 踏瀑戏水 water course, which is a separate choice from a walking visit.

Start with the park’s official booking information or call 400 046 3888 within China. Ask for the sightseeing route if you want to stay on paths, or the 踏瀑戏水 package if you want to get into the water. Confirm the named activity and any internal transport included in your ticket.

Diaoluoshan: plan a managed waterfall visit

吊罗山 · 枫果山瀑布 · 石晴瀑布

Fengguoshan Falls (枫果山瀑布) and Shiqing Falls (石晴瀑布) bring a different landscape to a southern-Hainan trip: cascades surrounded by the forest of the national park’s Diaoluoshan area. The park overview places the two waterfall sites roughly 18 km and 12 km beyond its gate, so transport inside the area matters as much as getting there.

Arrange the outing through 吊罗山度假康养旅游景区, the managed visitor area named by the park authority. Call +86 898 8338 1388 for the entrance, currently open waterfall paths, ticket and vehicle arrangements before setting off. Current access to individual waterfall tiers has not been confirmed.

Use the managed area’s open routes. The park’s September 2025 notice prohibits unauthorised entry into core and undeveloped areas, including independent stream trekking and camping there.
